Option B about Jack not being a reliable narrator could have been a possible answer but the passage is written using a third-person point of view, so Jack is not a narrator.
He uses more so he could tell more of a story and use more words do explain much more. He wanted to create vivid images in his readers mind of his poetry. He wanted to bring tears and joy and using more syllables made him capable of just that.
