Answer:

Customer balances are written off in the amount of $11,300.

Dr Bad Debt Expense $ 11.300

Cr Accounts receivable $ 11.300

At the end of the period, bad debt expense is estimated to be $9,300.

Dr Bad Debt Expense $ 9.300

Cr Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts $ 9.300

Explanation:

Customer balances are written off in the amount of $11,300.

Dr Bad Debt Expense $ 11.300

Cr Accounts receivable $ 11.300

It's assumed that the company apllied the direct method to write off customer balances.

When the company report that customer balances are written off it means

that the company it's reporting a loss the income statement and less assets.

Dr Bad Debt Expense it's a loss account of the income statement, a debit to this account means a loss to the company.

The contra account it's the asset account "account receivable" that will have a negative impact becasue of the writte off.

At the end of the period, bad debt expense is estimated to be $9,300.

Dr Bad Debt Expense $ 9.300

Cr Allowance for Uncollectible Accounts $ 9.300

In this case the company make an estimation of losses for the customer account that maybe won't be collected, this estimation it's made over balances at the end of the year that impact in the current income statement.

The impact it's the same as before with the difference that it's an estimation, less asset and more losses in the income statement.

If the estimation are not met, the next year wont be necessary to report a new loss in the income statement, if some accounts are not collected it will be reported using the estimation balances.

Because a lower interest rate means a lower cost of borrowing money. However policies cannot be applied to today's world, because policies never considered how to increase investment spending when there is so much debt on the consumer side and government side.

Suppose joe is trying to decide whether to buy a latte at a nearby coffee shop or make a cup of coffee at home. Joe would get $5
butalik [34]

Answer: The opportunity cost of Joe buying coffee at the coffee shop is $1.50.

Opportunity cost refers to the value of next best alternative that one loses when one makes a choice. It is also known as alternate cost.

We try to assess opportunity cost by finding the difference between the value of benefit expressed in monetary terms and the cost of the next best alternative.

In this question we can calculate the opportunity cost of buying a latte at the coffee shop as:

Opportunity Cost = Value of home made latte - Cost of making the home made latte

Opportunity Cost = 2.50 - 1

Opportunity Cost = 1.50

social media company needs money to expand, so it decides to issue stock. the first-time sale of the company's stock directly to
S_A_V [24]

When a social media firm needs funds to expand, it decides to sell stock. An initial public offering is the first time a company's shares are sold directly to the public (IPO). Hence, the correct answer is IPO.

What is an initial public offering?

An initial public offering (IPO) or stock launch is a public sale in which a company's shares are offered to institutional and, in most cases, individual investors. One or more investment banks often underwrite an IPO, as well as arrange for the shares to be listed on one or more stock exchanges. A privately owned corporation becomes a public company through this procedure, referred to colloquially as floating or going public. Initial public offerings (IPOs) can be used to raise additional equity capital for firms, to monetize the assets of private shareholders such as company founders or private equity investors, and to make current holdings or future capital raising easier to trade by becoming publicly traded.

As a graphic artist, nate has just finished producing a new calendar. his calendar cost him $1.00 for the shiny paper, $2.00 for
ICE Princess25 [194]
69 calendars. The cost of N calendars is C = F + MN where C = Total cost F = Fixed costs M = Marginal cost per item For this problem, the Fixed costs is the $400.00 given plus the cost of labor at $50 for 4 hours, for an additional $200. Making the total fixed costs being $400 + $200 = $600. The marginal cost are $1.00 + $2.00 + $0.25 = $3.25. So we have: C = $600 + $3.25N Now the money that will be received will be the sale price of the calendar multiplied by the number sold. So P = $12.00N Since we're looking for the break even point, let's set an inequality for these two equations, then solve for N. $600 + $3.25N <= $12.00N $600 <= $8.75N 68.57142857 <= N Since a fractional calendar can't be sold, the artist needs to sell at least 69 calendars to break even.
