Sportswomen had won all their races/sports by competing with just all that they got. May they have the edge over the others or becoming an underdog, but still continues to play the game - then media could probably in particular, deliver news without having an unfair prejudice.

PART A: Which of the following statements best express a theme in the poem?
Anni [7]

Answer:

c) People should embrace being alone and the peace it can bring.

Explanation:

In a poem, theme refers to the statement that provides a life lesson or a significant meaning. It is the main idea of the poem.

This poem starts by talking about daydreaming as a good escape from our problems, but not a solution. It continues by saying that we can't be at complete peace during our whole lives. So, we should learn to embrace being alone and also to learn how to find peace in this. It finishes by saying that we should be happy with being different.

Therefore, the main idea is that, despite having problems from time to time and being alone and different in our own way, c) we should learn to embrace this and learn how to find peace in this.

Obligation, possibility, present/past ability or promise.
balandron [24]

Answer:

a. possibility

b. past ability

c. promise

d. present ability

e. obligation

f. obligation

Explanation:

a. The use of "may" indicates the possibility of something happening in the future. "May" indicates a higher probability of that happening than "might".

b. "Could have" can indicate past ability or possibility. In this case, it seems that Nina did have the ability or strength to carry the bag, but she didn't do it. "Could have" is commonly used to indicate precisely that - the non-doing of something that we had the ability to do.

c. "Will" refers to a future action that we intend to do. In other words, it indicates a promise, a will to make something happen in the future.

d. "Can", among other things, is used to express present ability. It often accompanies verbs such as "run", "swim", "sing", etc.

e. and f. "Must" and "should" are used to indicate obligation. However, "should" indicates a lighter obligation, closer to a recommendation. "Must", on the other hand, is more imperative.

Nature of the predicate
Artemon [7]
The nature of the predicate in grammar is that it is one of the two parts of the sentence, the other being the subject, and its purpose is to provide some information about the subject, such as what it does or what the subject is like.
