Based on the myth of Arachne how were ancient Greeks supposed to live their lives

They were supposed to give their gods exclusive devotion and worship, or be punished. Arachne was so skilled at weaving, she took all the credit herself and gave no respect to the gods. Long story short, she was turned into a spider because of her disrespect.
