The correct answer is the delegates would be free to change their minds as new information was presented.

The Constitutional Convention was a meeting of delegates from 13 states in order to fix the current government structure. At this time, the Articles of Confederation were failing miserably and these individuals knew a change needed to occur.

However, to keep order, these meetings were kept secret in order to have a safe space where they could freely exchange ideas without facing criticism from the citizens. This allowed for debate and compromise to be made in a controlled environment.
