Which population would be most likely to undergo relatively rapid allopatric speciation? (ebook Module 14.4)A group of birds dev

Hummingbirds regularly fly back and forth across this distance and transport pollen between the two populations.A population of snakes becomes separated from other populations on a very large island that is formed by rising sea levels. The correct answer is: A group of wild horses is transported from Wyoming to a small desert island, previously without horses, off the coast of California. No additional horses reach the island thereafter.

Populations evolve to become distinct species and that is a process of creating new species or speciation. Allopatric speciation occurs when populations become isolated from the populations of the same species (gene flow between them doesn’t happen). In the example above, a group of wild horses is isolated from wild horses from Wyoming, and mostly likely will undergo genetic changes as a consequence of new environment. The exchange of genetic information between the two populations of wild horses will lead to reproductive isolation.

Explain why crops in the arctic grow larger than normal during the summer months
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

More sunlight, more photosynthesis

Explanation:

This is because when the sunlight hits the leaves, it allows photosynthesis to occur. But when you have extended periods of sunlight, like summer, it causes photosynthesis to continue for a longer time, which causes rapid energy storage. This makes excess food for the plant which gives the plant more energy for growth and pollination.

Hope this clears it up for ya:)

In the formula, E K = 1/2 • m • v 2 if mass (m) was doubled, how much would kinetic energy
Viktor [21]

Answer:

mass doubled makes KE twice as large

velocity doubled makes KE 4 times as large

Explanation:

Try it with an example

m = 4

v = 8

KE = 1/2 m * v^2

KE = 1/2*4 * 8^2

KE = 1/2 * 4 * 64

KE = 128

Now double the mass

m  = 8

v = 8

KE = 1/2 8 * 8^2

KE = 1/2 8 * 64

KE = 4 * 64

KE = 256 double what it started out as.

Now do it again.

m = 4     That was the original mass

v = 16

KE = 1/2 4 * 16^2

KE = 2 * 256

KE = 512

When the velocity is doubled the KE becomes 4 times as big.

4*128 = 512
