Question 1 (Mandatory) (1 point)
NNADVOKAT [17]

Tone is the way a narrator conveys his feelings when speaking or writing. A speaker can have a happy, anxious, angry, depressed tone.

Mood on the other hand is simply the atmosphere which the tone of the narrator creates in a work.

Some differences between tone and mood:

 • Tone refers to the choice of words a speaker decides to use
 • Mood is the atmosphere a reader gets when reading the words of a speaker.
 • Tone and mood does not have to be only positive and uplifting words because a tone can be either negative or depressing.

In this sentence, Jessie injured the same ankle that was hurt before, I know that the relative clause is "that was hurt before"
Flura [38]

Answer and Explanation:

What functions as a subject is not really the relative clause, but the relative pronoun - "that". Relative pronouns can act as subjects or objects in the clause they introduce. Let's compare:

1. I am the only person who saw Erica.

2. I am the only person who Erica saw and recognized.

Notice that in sentence 1, "who" is the subject of the clause "saw Erica". However, in sentence 2, "who" is the object. The subject of the verb "saw" now is "Erica".

The same happens in the clause "that was hurt before". The relative pronoun "that" - which is substituting the noun "ankle" - is the subject of the clause "was hurt before". Therefore, we can say its noun function is the subject.

What should I do to improve this short story, or what should I add to it?
aniked [119]

Answer:

instead of saying Sparrow and Liam exchanged stairs across the library you could instead try saying Liam and Sparrows eyes met from across the room or across the library, or not. I think your story's fine, if you want to make it a few more sentence longer then maybe you can put like a little backstory to why Liam and Sparrow are fighting or not it's your story I'm just you know saying maybe if you want a few more sentences it's something to put.
