Answer:

A. Her expenses are $25 per week.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using a linear function f(x) = mx + b, m= slope and b = y-intercept or initial value.  With the values of the given function:  E(x) = 7x - 25, we can determine that the overall earnings (E(x)) is based on a profit of $7 per door ('x') and that if Jessica is subtracting $25 from her earnings, that this must be the cost per week for her expenses.  So, she would need to knock on a minimum of 4 doors each week in order to make a profit.

A helicopter makes a round trip flight that lasts 4.5 hrs. if the average rate out was 80 miles per hour and the average rate in
zlopas [31]

Answer:

Let d = the one-way trip

Write a time equation: time = dist/speed

time out + time back = 4.5 hrs

d/80 + d/100 = 4.5

Multiply by 400 to clear the denominators

400*d/80 + 400*d/100 = 400(4.5)

Cancel the denominators

5d + 4d = 1800

d = 1800/9

d = 200 miles max distance

When you are given three side lengths for a triangle, how do you know which length to substitute for a, b, or c in the Pythagore
Romashka [77]

Answer:

When Sum of square of two Sides is equal to square of third side of triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Three side length of triangle are given we need find the which value to substitute for a, b, c in Pythagoras theorem.

First we will find the squares of all length, then we will check which two square of side are equal to square of third side as per Pythagoras theorem.

Hence the two side would according be a and b and third side will become c.

For example if length of triangle  is given as 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm.

We will first take square of all

6^2=36\\8^2=64\\10^2=100

Now we can see that

36+64=100\\6^2+8^2=10^2

Now by Pythagoras theorem.

a^2+b^2=c^2

Hence we can say a = 6 cm, b = 8 cm, c= 10 cm

Find a power series for the function, centered at c. f(x) = 1 9 − x , c = 4 f(x) = [infinity] n = 0 Incorrect: Your answer is in
Wewaii [24]

Looks like the given function is

f(x)=\dfrac1{9-x}

Recall that for |<em>x</em>| < 1, we have

\displaystyle\frac1{1-x}=\sum_{n=0}^\infty x^n

We want the series to be centered around x=4, so first we rearrange <em>f(x)</em> :

\dfrac1{9-x}=\dfrac1{5-(x-4)}=\dfrac15\dfrac1{1-\frac{x-4}5}

Then

\dfrac1{9-x}=\displaystyle\frac15\sum_{n=0}^\infty\left(\frac{x-4}5\right)^n

which converges for |(<em>x</em> - 4)/5| < 1, or -1 < <em>x</em> < 9.

Sam bought 12 apples. he used 1/3 of the apples to make apple pies. how many apples did he use for the apple pie? please show me
Furkat [3]
He used four apples to make an apple pie. you can simply divide 12 by 3. 1/3 of 12 apples would be 4. if you think about it 2/3 would be 8 apples, adding four more apples would be 12 apples making that 3/3.

Anyone know how to solve this? If you can help, I really appreciate it!
USPshnik [31]

Well if you know how to find the area and perimeters of the shapes, you would get a ratio like this. (Note: This is not one of them in the picture.) Ex. Is the picture above.

I hope this helped you.
