But in the 6th century BC, new forms of thinking welcomed new religions such as Buddhism and Jainism. Gautama Buddha was the founder of Buddhism and Mahavira Jina was the founder of Jainism. These two doctrines were the most important in India in the 6th century, although the decline of Brahmanism turned into what now we know as Hinduism.
