Why doesn’t hamlet kill king Claudius when the king is kneeling

English

So I totally just got this from this website this is not my answer but I found it:

Quick Answer

Hamlet hesitates to kill Claudius because he believes that Claudius is praying. If he were to be killed right after praying, when his soul is at its most pure, Claudius would go directly to heaven—and Hamlet wants to be sure he sends him to hell. But Hamlet can't hear what Claudius is actually saying; Claudius admits that he cannot fully repent of his murder of King Hamlet, because doing so would mean giving up his crown. So, technically, Claudius's soul is not pure, and Hamlet could have killed him in this moment, but Hamlet doesn't know this!

Detailed Answers:

Hamlet doesn't kill Claudius at this point because he believes that Claudius is praying. He says that killing the king NOW would be "hire and salary, not revenge!" He simply cannot send Claudius to heaven, where he would surely go were he killed just after praying and purging his sins. He thinks that would not avenge his father's murder, because Claudius killed Old Hamlet without giving him the opportunity to pray, and therefore, Old Hamlet must spend time in hell. Hamlet thinks killing Claudius when he is fit for heaven would be like paying Claudius for the murder of his father. That simply would not do.

The real irony is that Hamlet does not realize that his revenge could have been complete if he had actually killed the king then and there, because Claudius was not really praying. Oh, sure, he was on his knees, but Claudius says that he knows he cannot be forgiven for the murder unless he truly repents, and repentance would mean giving up his crown and queen. So when Claudius says "My words fly up, my thoughts remain below./ Words without thoughts never to heaven go," he is really admitting that he knows he isn't forgiven. If only Hamlet had known, then Polonius, Ophelia, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Leartes, Gertrude and Hamlet all could have survived.

Answer: this is gonna be super long but helpful

Explanation:

The headline you write for your yard sale creates the first impression potential shoppers have of your sale. On Craigslist yard sale listings, shoppers may not even open your ad if the headline doesn't sound appealing. The words "Garage Sale" or "Yard Sale" do not make an effective headline. Readers already know they're looking at garage sale listings. Your "what" is where you tell shoppers why your sale is more promising than the rest. Serious shoppers target the neighborhoods most likely to have what they want. They scan for those areas when planning their routes and prioritize the most promising sales. The headline isn't the place for your full address. It is the place for your subdivision name, part of town, street name, or whatever briefly identifies your location as a place shoppers might choose to prioritize. Lastly, list the overall types of merchandise you have

List specific pieces for merchandise that are particularly desirable

For example, don't list coffee mugs, t-shirts, headbands, florist vases. A better listing might include vintage linens and kitchenware, garden tools, furniture, plus-size clothing, mcm arc lamp, Victorian fainting couch, etc.

Which choice best describes the use of sound devices to reinforce meaning in lines 24–26 of “A Lecture upon the Shadow”?
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

The sound device shows how helpless love is in relation to time. As time passes, love declines.

Explanation:

The poem talks about the changes that love goes through over the years and how the love of many is diminished and ended over time. Lines 24-26 report this with greater emphasis, through the use of rhymes that impose a musicality and a feeling that time is moving rhythmically. This shows the pressure of time on love, as it reinforces the idea that love can decline if it is not used soon.

“Water, water, everywhere,
antiseptic1488 [7]
This is in a form of an Irony. Irony is used to express the opposite of what it really means. From the lines above,
"Water, water, water everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink," is opposite in meaning because there is water everywhere, but there's no more to drink.
