Answer:

The Yoruba culture

Explanation:

The Yoruba are one of the most significant cultures in African history; they are located in southwestern Nigeria and southern Benin, where a minority is concentrated. Historians claim that Yoruba domains developed along the southern bank of the Niger River.

The Yoruba has a rich and vibrant artisan community. The custom of art and artisans among Yoruba is profoundly noted in the Ifá literary body which points to the Orgun, Obatala, Oxum and Obalufon orishas as central to the creation mythology including the artistic work (art of humanity).

The sculptors perform their tasks in workshops with apprentices where the preferred techniques and styles are transmitted.

Throughout Yorubaland human figures are represented in basically natural forms, but except for their protruding, flat, projecting eyes, parallel lips, and stylized ears. Within the basic canons of Yoruba sculpture some features are particular distinctions of individual artists.
