A makes the most sense to me, because a general yet meaningful concept would make the best theme, but I’m sorry if I’m wrong.

In the list of options for themes, 1 is not even a theme, it’s a summary of the plot of a story, so B doesn’t seem correct, and C and D don’t sound right at all, either.
