The first option is not correct since Frankenstein does not feel empathy for his creation at all. In fact, he rejects it from the very beginning.

Victor Frankenstein is the main character in Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. He is an Italian-Swiss scientist who, applied everything he studied regarding chemical processes and the decay of living beings to the creation of life so that, he brought his own creature to life.
