I can’t exactly answer this since I do not have the text. However, figurative language is saying something that is not literal. Most common type of figurative language is metaphors or similes.

simile ex: “She’s as happy as a clam.”
similes always have the words “like” or “as” in them

metaphor ex: “This room is an ice cube!”
hence the not so literal meaning

The objective summary of the speech an apology by kevin gover
Nikitich [7]

Kevin Gover apologizes for the misdemeanor of the BIA towards American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Explanation:

The speech was delivered by Assistant Secretary Indian Affairs Kevin Grover at the celebration of the 175th anniversary of BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) with an intent to emphasis on the ethnic and cultural indifference or misbehavior towards American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Gover points out how children and their parents who were sent to BIA Boarding School suffered shame and lived in fear when subject to alcohol, drug abuse and domestic violence.

His apology was to emphasize on ethnic cleansing and destroying cultural difference as to what happened in the past cannot be changed, but we can look on to have a good future. His confession of all the wrongdoings by BIA was to lay stress on the healing that all should undergo which can enable to forget the past and focus on the future.

Match each example of a conflict in Julius Caesar with the type of conflict.
morpeh [17]

Answer:

Brutus feels guilty about assassinating Julius Caesar. - Internal conflict with oneself

Antony and Brutus argue over money. - External conflict with a character

The commoners are angry about the power of the government . - External conflict with society

Explanation:

The given question refers to The Tragedy of Julius Caesar - a historical play and tragedy written by William Shakespeare.

As we can see, there are several types of conflict in this play. An example of an internal conflict is Brutus feeling guilty about assassinating Ceasar. He killed Ceasar, and now he is feeling guilty about something he has done. He is battling his own feelings.

An example of an external conflict with another character is Brutus and Antony arguing over money. An external conflict is a struggle between the main character and some outside force (e.g. another character or the society). Similarly, commoners being angry about the power of the government is an example of an external conflict with society.
