<em>"Everyday Use"</em> is a short story written by Alice Walker and published in 1973. The story is narrated from the point of view of Mama. She is a big-boned woman  and a loving mother who has two daughters, Dee and Maggie. Dee is  the older and educated daughter and Maggie is shy and she lives with her mother.

Dee and her mother are alike in the sense that both have lived their heritage and are educated through living.

Your question is incomplete because you have not provided the answer options, which are:

subject/verb agreement

pronoun reference

parallelism

Answer:

parallelism

Explanation:

Parallelism refers to the use of similar grammatical structure among sentences in a text, so that the sentences and clauses are built in an almost identical grammatical construction. In that matter, parallelism actually involves a balance of different grammatical categories; for instance:

<em>My cat Greta enjoys sleeping on my bed, eating all the time and hunting bugs in the garden. In the same way, my dog Pepa loves taking long naps, waiting to be fed and going for walks.</em>

Thus, both sentences are written with the same structure: subject plus verbs followed by gerunds with <em>-ing</em>.

Which is the best example of a note taken for the following supporting detail?
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

Option C. Your body needs.

Explanation:

The objective of a note is to highlight the most important of a piece of information.

The supporting detail itself is already a note taken from a main idea. Regardless, the most significant part of this fragment would be the phrase "Your body needs", as it is important to know there's a real life benefit to the text's content: Attending to one's body biological needs.
