A mixed number has a whole number and a fraction. To convert the improper fraction into a mixed number multiply the denominator by a whole number that is close to 12.

Now lets solve for the improper fraction 12/3. 12 represents the numerator and 3 represents the denominator.

3 * 1 = 3     Too small
3 * 2 = 6     Too small
3 * 3 = 9     Too small
3 * 4 = 12   Perfect!!

Therefore the whole number is 4.

4 12/3

VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

6 samples

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Sample size, = n

Standard deviation, = 6000

Margin of Error = 2000

Confidence interval, α = 95%

Zcritical at 95% = 1.96

n = (Zcritical * σ) / margin of error

n = (1.96 * 6000) /2000

n = 11760 / 2000

n = 5.88

n = 6 samples

spin [16.1K]

let's firstly convert the mixed fractions to improper fractions and then divide.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{1\frac{1}{4}}\implies \cfrac{1\cdot 4+1}{4}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{5}{4}}~\hfill \stackrel{mixed}{3\frac{4}{5}}\implies \cfrac{3\cdot 5+4}{5}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{19}{5}} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \cfrac{5}{4}\div\cfrac{19}{5}\implies \cfrac{5}{4}\cdot \cfrac{5}{19}\implies \cfrac{25}{76}
