Why does the x axis of a dose-response curve use log units?
velikii [3]

Applying logarithm to the x axis of the dose response curve is a math trick that will linearize the middle zone of the curve and will allow you to visualize better  the  EC50 of the drug. Also the numbers on the x axis are easier to write since they are larger when you apply the logarithm to the concentrations.

Harman [31]

Answer:

Option B, The controls on cell growth and divisions can be turned on and off

Explanation:

There are signal proteins that control and regulate the cell growth and division process. For instance, mitogens help in removing the negative controls which would otherwise have blocked the cell cycle progression. Then there are growth factors that synthesize proteins and hence stimulate cell growth. Also there are some survival factors that suppress the apoptosis. Based on these three factors the cell division and growth can be turned on or off.

Hence, option B is correct

What is the function of the Pleurae?
Doss [256]

Answer:

The function of the pleura is to allow optimal expansion and contraction of the lungs during breathing. The pleural fluid acts as a lubricant, allowing the parietal and visceral pleura to glide over each other friction free. This fluid is produced by the pleural layers themselves.
