Music is a lot like poems, they have a flow. Songs are also composed of a person's feelings. That is why it's art. Like art, music is to express yourself and how you truly feel. People also don't want to forget the songs they wrote, because people can get inspiration at the weirdest times.

So people don’t forget their chords, and writing down music helps with performances so musicians don’t forget thier chords :) hope this helped!
