Gerrymandering is an effort made by a certain political party to manipulate district boundaries and make it gain advantage during the election

In order to carry this out, that political party usually made an intiative to prevent a certain demographic of voters to actually give their vote or by reallocating them to a weaker district. By doing this, the opposition party will lose their foothold in their district and eventually lost the race.
