Students attending schools with mandatory uniform policies experience less pressure than do students who must choose their wardr

obes. This is because school uniforms allow students and their parents to save money and time. The financial investment in uniforms at the beginning of the school year is far more economical than the purchase of an entire wardrobe of designer clothes and trendy styles. Students who do not have to deliberate what to wear each morning are able to invest their time in more productive ways, such as studying for tests or finishing homework. Uniforms may stifle students’ self-expression, but there are many other ways for them to reveal their individuality at school.
Which fact best supports the author’s position?
A. On average, school uniforms cost $150 a year, which is much less than the average spent on back-to-school clothes.
B. Parents have the right to exempt their children from wearing school uniforms, but they must meet with an administrator to discuss the issue.
C. In 1994, a school district in California implemented a school uniform policy in grades K-8, which affected more than 60,000 students.
D. To assist schools in establishing a uniform policy, the US Department of Education has created an online manual.

Answer:

A. On average, school uniforms cost $150 a year, which is much less than the average spent on back-to-school clothes.

Explanation:

This is the fact that best supports the author's position. In this passage, the author tells us that students who wear uniforms experience many benefits, such as less peer pressure, less expenses when buying clothes and more free time. Therefore, this sentence supports the idea by explaining that school uniforms are less expensive than purchasing back-to-school clothes.

What event occurred in the “Seventh Man” life that changed his perspective on the traumatic experience he had at the age of 10
mestny [16]

The following event occurred in the "Seventh Man":

When he was younger, he was the victim of a horrific tsunami. Why does the father of the seventh man let him venture outside in a storm? He permitted him to leave because the winds were in "intermission."

Throughout the course of the novel, The Seventh Man's perspective frequently shifts. He initially thought K had grinned at him in the space between the first and second wave. Then, as he gets away, he starts to remember it a little less and doesn't look down on it as harshly.

We learn that the best way to deal with fear is to face it rather than turn our backs and let it gradually consume us as the story progresses and the seventh man learns to reconcile his constant guilt and grief as well as his terror of the water.
