Gold is a shiny, yellow and very soft metal. It is highly malleable, ductile and dense metal. It forms solid under standard conditions and resistance to acids. Gold is very valuable throughout the world and it is very attractive.

Gold is a good conductor of electricity and heat and its atomic number is 79. it doesn’t corrode easily and can maintain its conductivity for a very long time.

Gold can dissolve in an alkaline solution of cyanide, which can be used in mining and electroplating.  Gold can also dissolve in aqua regia to form soluble tetrachloroaurate anion

Gold is very rare and can be used to produce varieties of things such as coinage, jewelry, copper wire and can as well be used to produce gold electronics.

Gold cannot be affected by either acid or base and can be highly resistant to oxidation. The total amount of gold that exists underneath the ground is about 186,700tonnes and the use of new Gold around the world in jewelry, investments, and industries is about 50, 40, and 10 percent respectively.

Gold has religious and symbolic meanings in different cultures and it is the highly sought after precious metal all around the world. It also serves as a form of currency for ages.
