A new equipment has been proposed by engineers to increase the productivity of a certain manual welding operation. The investmen

t cost is $25,000, and the equipment will have a market value of $5,000 at the end of a study period of five years. Increased productivity attributable to the equipment will amount to $10,000 per year after operating costs have been subtracted from the revenue generated by the additional production. If MARR is 10%, is investing in this equipment feasible? Use annual worth method.

Answer:

It is feasible. 16,012.47 dollars

Explanation:

We will calculate the present value of the increased productivity and the salvage value.

The productivity will be done with an ordinary annuity

while the salvage with a lump sum

productivity \times \frac{1-(1+r)^{-time} }{rate} = PV\\

productivity: 10,000

n = 5 years

MARR = 10%

10000 \times \frac{1-(1+0.1)^{-5} }{0.1} = PV\\

PV $37,908

\frac{Salvage}{(1 + rate)^{time} } = PV

Salvage: 5,000.00

time   5 years

MARR = 10%

\frac{5000}{(1 + 0.1)^{5} } = PV

PV   3,104.61

Then we calcualte the NPV which si the sum of the cash inflow or cash savings after subtracting the investing cost at year zero:

Net present value: $37,907.8677 + $3,104.6066 - 25,000 = $16,012.4743

it wil be feaseble as his NPV is positive.

qaws [65]

Answer:

The Whistling Straits Corporation needs 1,498,000 shares to be sold to raise $91 million.

Explanation:

Total Finance Needed  = $91,000,000

Offer price per share = $65 per share

Charges of underwriter = 7%

Total Number of shares needed to be sold = ( $91,000,000 / $65 ) x 107%

Total Number of shares needed to be sold = 1,400,000 x 107%

Total Number of shares needed to be sold = 1,498,000 shares

The Whistling Straits Corporation needs 1,498,000 shares to raise $91 million.

MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Answer:

$1,452,000

Explanation:

Calculation for the firm’s 2018 operating cash flow

First step is to calculate the Cash flow from assets using this formula

Cash flow from assets= Cash flow to creditors + Cash flow to stockholders

Let plug in the morning

Cash flow from assets=-$25,000 + $80,000= $55,000

Now let calculate Cash flow from assets using this formula

Cash flow from assets = OCF capital - Net capital spending-Change in Net Capital spending

Let plug in the formula

$55,000=OCF-$1,490,000-($93,000)

OCF=$1,490,000+$55,000-$93,000

OCF=$1,452,000

Therefore the firm’s 2018 operating cash flow is $1,452,000

A shoe manufacturer sells high-end designer shoes to wholesalers who, in turn, sell a variety of shoes and other leather accesso
natulia [17]

Answer: B. Indirect channel

Explanation: The channel of distribution is defined as a network of organizations that connect the producer/manufacturer of goods and services with the end-users or consumers of those goods or services. By employing the services of wholesalers and retailers, the shoe manufacturer is using the indirect channel of distribution, specifically the two-level channel (Manufacturer to Wholesaler to Retailer to Customer). Also known as selling to intermediaries, it involves wholesalers buying the bulk of goods from the manufacturers, then selling to retailers (after breaking them down into small packages) who eventually sell it to the end customers.
