Read the passage from the opinion of the court in Dred Scott v. Sandford, written by Justice Taney. Upon the whole, therefore, i

t is the judgment of this court, that it appears by the record before us that the plaintiff in error is not a citizen of Missouri, in the sense in which that word is used in the Constitution; and that the Circuit Court of the United States, for that reason, had no jurisdiction in the case, and could give no judgment in it. Its judgment for the defendant must, consequently, be reversed, and a mandate issued, directing the suit to be dismissed for want of jurisdiction.
What claim does Taney make in this passage?

As a citizen of Missouri, Sanford can pursue a case against Scott.

The Missouri circuit court does not have jurisdiction in the case against Sanford.

Scott should pursue his case against Sanford in a state other than Missouri.

Scott is a citizen of the United States, but not of the state of Missouri.

Pick a picture you like and write a story about the picture. Write a paragraph of between 15 and 20 sentences.
Elis [28]

Answer:

One morning, I woke up and thought to do something instead of sitting around. I had gotten a message from my best friend saying that a new haunted house was open. I told him that I'd go. Once we got there, no one was there. It started raining. We went inside and heard footsteps. I didn't know what it was because again, there was no one there. After a little bit of investigating, I found out that there was a box under a wooden plank near the footsteps. I opened the box, only to see a picture. In a split second, my friend was on the ground, grappling a mysterious creature. I said that we had to leave immediately, and not try to fight. He refused. He managed to throw the creature in a locker as we ran as fast as we could away from that house. When we arrived at my place, we observed the picture more closely. I will never forget this image.

What tasks would be examples of pre-preparation?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Examples of pre-preparation includes opening packages, measuring & cutting ingredients, getting ingredients & equipment out from wherever they're stored, & greasing baking pans.

Pre-preparation aims to do as much work ahead of time as feasible without sacrificing quality. This French expression, which translates to "put in position," emphasises that all materials should be gathered in the work area before preparation begins. By planning ahead, you can prepare more quickly and with fewer errors. Any area of the kitchen may be used for preparation. Food-borne diseases and cross-contamination result from improper food preparation. The chef and the members of the supporting team must use sterilised utensils or those that have been cleaned properly to prevent food-borne disease.

Chemistry is that branch of natural philosophy in which the greatest improvements have been made, and may be made; it is on that
blsea [12.9K]

The crrect nswer is C. The pursuit of knowledge

The advisor is giving a speech about how to become a "man of science," and s/he is arguing that in order to become one, one should study every branch of natural philosophy and not just one specialty. Natural philosophy was a term used during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to refer to Natural Sciences before science emerged as an institutionalized and rational method of studying the reality. The advisor also contrasts the concept of "man of science" with "petty experimentalist," which is that that one would become if you do not apply yourself to the study of every branch of science. Here, the speaker is stressing the importance of learning about different fields of study, in order to think out of the box and make connections between different topics that, other way, could not be made. This is the main difference between a man of science, who searches for true knowledge, and petty experimentalists, who just apply themselves to a particular field of study.
