Plant cells have cell wall as there outer most layer that protects the cell from harmful conditions and also provides shape to the plant cell. However, animal cell do not have cell wall.

They just have cell membrane as their outer most layer. Beneath the cell wall is the cell membrane in the plant cell. Cell wall provides structure and strength to the cell.

Cellulose is the major component of cell wall in plants. The cell wall is formed by the formation of cell plate during the cell division.
