Answer:

The correct answer is A. one or more points of interest

Explanation:

The Rule of Third is a method applied to images or even used in movies. It consists of drawing four lines, two horizontal and two vertical, creating a grid of nine equal parts. This technique was developed in painting and largely used in photography.

The points of intersection between horizontal and vertical lines will determinate what will be the most important elements in a composition. This was an attempt to discourage artists to always centralize the main characters in their paintings. It’s also an alternative to another method that was widely used in the Renaissance, called The Golden Triangle, in which a sequence of triangles harmonizes the composition.

Basically, the horizontal lines will determinate the image horizon, whether it’s on the top or the bottom line. The vertical lines will be responsible to locate any other element.

In indoor images, the horizontal lines will determinate the space limitation, while the vertical ones will be helpful to create people or even a tall object like a door. As we’re part of the western tradition, where we read or write a text from the left-top to the right bottom, our brains tend to see an image as a text. The Rule of Thirds gives the artist the chance to drive our eyes the way he expects the image to be delivered.

One big point of using this technique is that we have to harmonize the composition, like never putting too much light in a square or even too characters. This rule fits perfectly to landscapes, photographs or movies.
