It opens your eye to discrimination and how judgemental people can be.

Explanation:

The greasers were always hated on the the richer people for the way they dressed, talked and did their hair and people didn't really take into mind that they could be going through troubles in their lives which could make them act the way they do. Treating them with disrespect didn't make their troubled lives any easier.
