In order for the urbanization to take place, the natural areas, usually forests and grasslands, need to be cleared. With the clearing out of them, the forests and grasslands are decreasing as they have been ruined and occupied with infrastructure.

The urbanization predicts the building of lot of infrastructure, big portion of which is with concrete and asphalt, thus significantly increasing the paved surfaces.

- increased soil erosion;
