Giuseppe Garibaldi was an Italian general, nationalist and politician who took part in a monumental role in the history of Italy. He is deemed, with Camillo Cavour, Victor Emmanuel II and Giuseppe Mazzini, as one of Italy's "fathers of the fatherland".
