Advantages:

-provides and safeguards basic freedoms

-more peaceul rulers

-everyone involved in decision making

-one or few rulers so decisons are made quickly

Disadvantages:

-less basic freedoms

-more violence in order to gain and keep power

-decisions only benefit the ones chosen by the ruler

(not 100% sure if this is correct)
