Which event did the Soviet Union fear during the Cold War?

History

The third alternative is correct (C).

In the context of the Cold War, the world was bipolarized by the leadership of the US, capitalist and communist USSR. It was a dispute of hegemony, so the fear on both sides was to lose the leading role and see the economic model crumble. This is what happened to the USSR. A social and economic collapse of the USSR led to the end of the Cold War and the triumph of the capitalist model. Both sides also feared a warlike confrontation, so that the USSR could be destroyed if the capitalist nations contended for war.

19. England experienced all of the following hardships in the late 1500's prompting
anastassius [24]

In the 1500s, England had not yet began e. the widespread importation of African slaves into the British Isle.

The late 16th century and 17th centuries saw much change in England as a result of many factors including:

  • The Protestant Reformation which saw religious groups such as Catholics and Protestants come into conflict with each other
  • An increase in population that reduced public welfare
  • The introduction of enclosures which limited the movements of farmers and created the need for more land and,
  • International rivalry with Spain for the control of the seas.

At that point however, England had not yet become very active in the slave trade and so did not see a lot of enslaved Africans in the British Isles.

We can conclusively state that the British did not see many Africans who were enslaved coming into Britain in the late 1500s.
