As the population increases, the resources necessary to feed the additional persons will also increase. However, basic resources such as food and water are not unlimited. Some countries have more and some less.

Thus, the amount of available drinking water will decrease as well as the available farmland. Due to more mouths to feed, food insecurity will increase as it is uncertain if it is possible to adequately feed the new population.
