After Gaius (Caligula's real name) went with his father <span>on campaigns in north </span>Germania, t<span>he other soldiers were surprised that Gaius was dressed in a miniature soldier's uniform, including boots and armor. He was then given the nickname </span>Caligula<span>, which means, "little soldier's boot" because he wore the little boots with his uniform, hope this helps....</span>
