A. Species adapt over time based on the environmental selection pressures. Individuals cannot go through evolution, since evolution consists of natural selection, which chooses for individuals with certain advantageous characteristics to survive, and for the individuals with disadvantageous characteristics to die. The favourable allele coding for the advantageous characteristic in individuals will then be passed on to their offspring, and natural selection continues.

Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

The information is not sufficient to support this asumption

Explanation:

To unequivocally determine the existence of selection acting on this trait (size), it is necessary to carry out an experiment in which the sample size should be statistically significant (N sample for each group > 50). Moreover, it is also important to include negative controls (i.e., individuals with an average size between both groups) in the experiment.

Flat worms belong to Phylum- Platyhelminthes as they have flat body because they don't have any coelom in their body or called acoelomate

Coelom is called as the true body cavity that is found in Porifera and Cnidaria but when it comes to platyhelminthes, the coelom is not found and thus they have flat like structure and they are categorized under first triploblastic  animals that is they contain 3 tissue layer which are found in higher animals (Ectoderm, Mesoderm and endoderm) also cephalization takes place in this parasitic group which indicates evolution towards higher, complex organisms.
