The summary of this story is that Niral's mother needed milk and bread. Niral was given five dollars but the bread and milk cost almost six dollars.So she explained to the shopkeeper.He gave her the bread and milk for five dollars and said "Thank you for being such a good customer!"
So for this essay you know that it is definitely not the conclusion. It is not the topic sentence but it is supporting evidence of the topic sentence. It can also be seen as a hook because it is at the beginning of the essay and it catches the reader's attention.
You can say that it is either supporting evidence or a hook. It all depends on what your teacher is looking for. If I was you I would go with supporting evidence.
