I would personally rather be a house slave then a field slave. Field slaves were worked countless hours a day, and it was just a long day in general for the field slaves. Slaves in the house were the ones who did the cleaning and cooking and taking care of children and things like that. Plus if you lagged off in the field, you could be beaten. If you lagged off in the house, as long as you got your chore done it wouldn't of been that bad.
