So I believe what you’re looking for here is what is being described by the various adjectives in the sentence (ex. in sentence 1, “morels” is the simple subject that “freshly picked” is describing if that makes sense). In 2, I think it would be “mushrooms” for the simple subject, being described by “these”. “These mushrooms” is the complete subject. In some sentences, the simple subject is the complete subject, like in 10 the subject is “we” but it’s not being described by anything. Someone correct me if I’m wrong; I’m just trying to recall what I learned last year!
