W - u = 60.....w = 60 + u

3w - 2u = 12
3(60 + u) - 2u = 12
180 + 3u - 2u = 12
3u - 2u = 12 - 180
u = -168

w = 60 + u
w = 60 - 168
w = - 108

solution is (-168,-108)

Find the length of arc AB
marissa [1.9K]

Step 1: Find the circumference of the circle

Formula for circumference: C = 2 * pi * r

C = 2 * pi * 27

C = 54pi

Step 2: Find the length of the desired arc

We are only looking for 20 degrees out of 360 degrees, therefore we can multiply our circumference by 20/360.

20/360 * 54pi = 3pi units

Hope this helps!

Kevin uses 2 and 1/4 cups of ravens for every half cup of peanuts when making a snack mix how many cups of raisins does Kevin us
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

For 1 cup of peanut Kevin will use \frac{9}{2} \ cups \ \ \ OR \ \ \ 4\frac{1}{2} \ cups of raisins.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

\frac{1}{2} cups of peanuts = 2\frac{1}{4} cups of raisin

2\frac{1}{4}  can be rewritten as \frac{9}{4}

\frac{1}{2} cups of peanuts = \frac{9}{4} cups of raisin

We need to find number of cups of raisins used in 1 cup of peanut.

Solution:

Now we know that;

\frac{1}{2} cups of peanuts = \frac{9}{4} cups of raisin

So 1 cup of peanut = number of cups of raisins used in 1 cup of peanut

Now by using Unitary method we get;

number of cups of raisins used in 1 cup of peanut = \frac{\frac{9}{4}}{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{9}{4}\times \frac{2}{1} = \frac{9}{2} \ cup \ \ \ OR \ \ \ 4\frac{1}{2} \ cup

Hence For 1 cup of peanut Kevin will use \frac{9}{2} \ cups \ \ \ OR \ \ \ 4\frac{1}{2} \ cups of raisins.

the total cost of a bus ride and a ferry ride is $8.00. in one month, bus fare will increase by 10% and ferry fare will increase
ipn [44]
The bus fare is x, and the ferry fare is y.

x + y = 8

The bus fare will increase by 10% and the ferry fare will increase by 25%.

1.1x + 1.25y = 9.25

Multiply the first equation by -1.1:

-1.1x - 1.1y = -8.8

Add this to the original second equation.

0.15y = 0.45

y = 3

x + y = 8

x + 3 = 8

x = 5

The bus fare is $5, and ferry fare is $3.
