The First Crusade represents a milestone in the mindset and relationships of Western Christians, Eastern Christians, and Muslims. Although their achievements were completely lost, it was also the beginning of the western expansion, associated with the Reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula, which resulted in an adventure of discovery and western imperialism.
