The Panama Canal was a shortcut for ships to take so it would be easier for trade. Before the Panama Canal, ships had to go around the whole U.S. just to get to their destination.

A state judge handles more local cases. A federal judge handles normaly larger cases or cases that took place on federal properly. jugdes have tge power to block laws made by congress or the president. jugdes arnt elected by the people.
