A folktale is a legend or story originating among people or folks passed down traditionally. So, for something to be a folktale, it must originate from ancestors and be passed down to each generation. They all began as stories told by mouth, not written down. Also, there is always a moral of the story or a lesson which come from impossible seeming tasks. Some tell of how creatures of earth came to be and since these people were guessing, it caused the creation of myths. Also, all characters are animals or people and things usually happen in threes. Hence, the rule of three. They sometimes talk about peoples fears and anxieties and how they overcome such fears. They tell of peoples lives and their imaginations. They don't have known creators, which is the beauty of folktales. They aren't all realistic and share sometimes of real settings, but fictional characters. They are such amazing stories and share amazing things to overcome. Folktales come from all over the world from such places like asia, india, china, etc. Some well known folktales you have probably heard of or read are "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Goldie Locks and the Three Bears", and "Chicken Little". If you haven't read these yet, you definitely should because they share such amazing morals and lessons, which I really took in as a child.

Decribe a day at your job.. please one paragraph introduction
nasty-shy [4]

I wake up at 6 o’clock. I get up at 6.50. I make a cup of tea and iron my clothes. I have a shower and get dressed. I usually wear jeans, a blouse, a jumper or cardigan and boots in the winter, or a skirt and blouse in the summer. I brush my hair, put on my make-up. I pack my bag with all my teaching materials. I then put on my coat and leave the house. I walk to the bus stop. I catch the bus at 8.15, and then I pay my fare and sit down. It takes about 45 minutes to get to my destination three miles away. I get off the bus and walk to the school where I teach English. I have to sign in and get the key. Class starts at 9.25 and ends at 11.25.

I have lunch at 12. I eat a baguette or sandwich at the local café. I sometimes do some shopping before I walk back to school. I do some photocopying and go back to my classroom. I teach in the afternoon from 1 to 3pm. I then catch the bus back home and spend a couple of hours relaxing before I cook dinner.

My son goes to work shortly after I come home. Sometimes he cooks dinner before I get home, and sometimes I cook. I like to eat rice or pasta with a sauce. I chop the onions, fry them and then mix them with garlic, tomatoes, carrots, spinach and chilies. I boil the rice and then add the sauce. After dinner I wash up, sweep the floor, and tidy up a bit.

In King Arthur's Knights, what motivated Sir Mordred and Sir Agravaine to plot against Sir Lancelot? (select all that apply)
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

Option C. In King Arthur's Knights, Sir Mordred and Sir Agravain were motivated to plot against Sir Lancelot as they both wanted the kingdom fro themselves.

Explanation:

Sir Mordred was King Arthur's son and nephew, from an intimate relationship King Arthur had with his step-sister Morgause, when he did not know they were related. In order to prevent his incestuous affair to become public, King Arthur ordered that every kid born on May st, as Mordred was, must be killed. But Mordred survived, and he knew that if he managed to kill King Arthur he would be the lawful heir to the throne. Mordred plans the downfall of King Arthur with the help of Sir Agravain, who was King Arthur's nephew. They both participate in the plot against the king as they both were rightful heirs and wanted the kingdom to themselves and King Arthur out of the picture and the round table.

How could sentence 11 be revised to better transition to sentence 12 and describe what the campground was like when the narrator
algol [13]

Answer:

Better transition of the sentence is:

Option B: When we got to our campground, it was only mid-morning, but the campsites were already filling up fast.

Explanation:

Option B clearly explains that it was mid morning when they reached the campground but campsites were filling up fast.

Option A is incorrect as it says that people were trying to grab campsites when they reached. Option C says that they should have left earlier, so it is incorrect. Option D also doesn't mention about the early filling up of the camp. Thus, of all the options, the better transition will be statement B.
