denis-greek [22]

Answer:

Option A.TRUE

Explanation:

The printed media played a significant role in making sure that the news about the war was disseminated throughout the warring countries. It was through the newspapers that ordinary people received the news about the war. It was the newspapers that revealed the impact of the war on the home fronts, and the newspapers had a hand in the propaganda of spreading the war and raising the morale of the people. Which of the following grievances from the Declaration of Independence reflects the principle of social contract?
QveST [7]

The correct answer is B)"For imposing taxes on us without our consent."

The idea of a social contract states that individuals within a society are willing to give up some of their personal freedoms/liberties in order to establish a government that will make rules on their behalf. The ultimate goal of the social contract is for the elected officials to represent the people and to make laws that will protect and benefit all citizens.

In this case, the grievance listed in option choice B) represents the idea of the social contract within the Declaration of Independence because it shows how citizens are upset with the government for not taking into consideration want the citizens desire.

How did the Mexican American war affect the slavery debate?
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

The Mexican American War was heavily influenced by the debate on slavery in the United States of America. Ulysses S. Grant, future top military commander of Union Army and president, said that the Civil War was a God´s punishment  for the Mexican American War, a "wicked war" motivated by imperialism and expansion of slavery, in his words. The war was supported by many Americans who saw in it the fulfillment of the Manifest Destiny, the promise that the USA would extent from sea to sea as an expression of the divine will. In the 1840s, in the antebellum years, the debate was focused on whether the new territories should be slavery-free or admit slavery. The opposing positions created another legislative crisis. Under the Compromise of 1850, California was admitted as a free state, but it didn´t decide the status of other new states. Kansas and Nebraska were also political battlefields between pro-slavery and anti-slavery activists.
