In the past 6 days, Adrion's travel time to school has varied: 22 minutes, 27 minutes, 34 minutes, 29 minutes, 20 minutes, and 1

8 minutes. The work shown is her calculation of the mean absolute deviation of the time traveled. Which step contains the first error Adrion made?

I think she made a mistake at step 4 because I know in order to find the mean absolute deviation of a number you must divide as the last step, not subtract and the rest of her work looks correct.

Answer:

Step 4, because she should have divided rather than subtracting 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean absolute deviation formula,

MAD=\frac{\sum |x-\mu|}{n}

Where,

\mu represents mean,

n represents the number of items,

x represents an item,

Here, data items are,

22, 27, 34, 29, 20, and 18

Thus, the steps for finding the mean absolute deviation are as follows,

Step 1 : Finding means,

\frac{22+27+34+29+20+18}{6}=25

Step 2 : absolute values of the given data items,

|22-25|=3,  |27-25|=2, |34-25|=9, |29-25|=4, |20-25|=5, |18-25|=7

Step 3 : Sum of all absolute values,

3+2+9+4+5+7=30

Step 4 : Divide sum of absolute value by number of data items,

\frac{30}{6}=5

Hence, step 4 contains the first error, because she should have divided rather than subtracting 6.

Liza is driving to her sister's house 360 miles away. After 4 hours, Liza is 2 3 of the way there.
DochEvi [55]

Liza is driving to her sister's house 360 miles away. After 4 hours, Liza is 2/3 of the way there.   How many more hours  does Liza have to drive?

<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

Liza need to drive 2 more hours to reach her sister house

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that Liza is driving to her sister's house 360 miles away

So total distance = 360 miles

After 4 hours, Liza is 2/3 of the way there.

\frac{2}{3} r d \text { of total distance }=\frac{2}{3} \times 360=240

So Liza has covered 240 miles in 4 hours

Let us find the speed

<em><u>The relation between distance and speed is given as:</u></em>

speed = \frac{distance}{time}

speed = \frac{240}{4} = 60

Thus speed = 60 miles per hour

Assuming speed is same throughout the journey, let us calculate the time taken to complete remaining distance

Remaining distance = 360 - 240 = 120 miles

Now distance = 120 miles and speed = 60 miles per hour

time taken = \frac{distance}{speed}\\\\time taken = \frac{120}{60} = 2

Thus Liza need to drive 2 more hours to reach her sister house

A bag contains 10 pounds of dog food.

A family feeds their dogs 0.85 pound of dog food a day so cin seven day the dog eats (0.85 x 7) = 5.95 pounds

so, <span>dog food is left in the bag after 7 days is </span>(10-5.95) = 4.05 pounds

Given the formula for an arithmetic sequence f(7) = f(6) + 4 written using a recursive formula, write the sequence using an arit
natita [175]

Answer:

Of(7) = f(1) + 24

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this Arithmetic Sequence can be written recursively as a function, then we can write the whole sequence, by adding the common difference to the previous function. So writing it as an Arithmetic formula is (placing an example, with a common difference of 4 units):

\left.\begin{matrix}n &1&2&3&4&5&6 &7\\f(n)&2&6&10 & 14&18&22&26 \end{matrix}\right|\\f(n)=f(n-1)+d\:\: (Recursive \: Formula)\Rightarrow a_{n}=a_{n-1}+4\: \: \: (Arithmetic\: Formula)\\Of(7)=f(1)+6*4\Rightarrow a_{7}=a_{1}+(7-1)4\Rightarrow a_{7}=a_{1}+24\\
