Respected Sir/madam

It is to bring into your notice that the problem of traffic jam is increasing in the city leading to a lot of problems to the people living here. It makes us reach our destination late and sometimes becomes a huge problem for us. Steps have to be taken to reduce this else this will go on increasing in the coming times. Lanes should be formed for managing the traffic and steps to increase the use of public transport should be taken.

It is the need of the hour to look into this matter and solve it as soon as possible.

Yours obediently,

Garima.

Question #5: Which sentence is a run-on sentence? A. The weather may change suddenly higher up the mountain. B. Thomas thought a
horsena [70]

Answer:

C. The weather is nice today rainy, wet and cold tomorrow.

Explanation:

Run-on sentences are those types of sentences where two or more independent clauses or sentences are joined in one sentence improperly. So, instead of keeping them in separate sentences, they are joined in one sentence but without the use of an appropriate conjunction.

In the given sentences, the one with a run-on sentence is option C. This is because sentence C contains two independent clauses <u>"the weather is nice today"</u> and <u>"rainy, wet and cold tomorrow"</u>. And when they are joined together, no appropriate or proper conjunction is used to make them into one sentence.

Sentence A is wrong as it contains just one independent clause.

Sentence B is wrong as it correctly uses "and" to join the two independent clauses.

Sentence D is wrong as it is just a single independent clause.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.

Anastaziya [24]

Answer: b. Demeaning

Explanation:

Demeaning someone means to speak to someone in a very disrespectful manner by insulting them with the aim being to degrade them and make them feel less dignified. It can also be done through actions.

Arachne here called the person a silly fool who is worn out and witless (stu-pid) which served to insult the person and therefore demean them. The tone is therefore demeaning.
