Hi

which idiom best comletes the following conversation ?

answer is A

Clément = Est-ce qu tu es libre ce soir ? On peut aller au restaurant.

Sandrine = Non, ma chérie (should be "mon chéri", if answering Clément). Ce n'est pas possible. On a du pain sur le planche.

A- avoir du pain sur la planche ==> have got a lot to do
B- a la tête dans les nuages ==> to have your head in the clouds
C- a raison ==> is right
D- a la tête sur les épaules ==> to have got your head on your shoulder (to know what you're doing..)

Sorry, I do't know the correct idioms in English...;

Hope this help :)

What do you say in the following situations (in French)..
Komok [63]
Je pense que les deux équipes sont très bien à jouer handball. Mais, je pense que le premier équipe gagnera parce qu'ils déjà gagné beaucoup des jeux et ils sont mieux au lancer. Aussi, l'autre équipe doit pratiquer le travail d'équipe car ils sont bagarres toujours.

Translation:

I think that both teams are very good at playing handball. But, I think that the first team will win because they already won many games and they are better at throwing. Also, the other team must practice teamwork because they are always fighting.

Hope this helps, but I'm not sure if it would work on an opening ceremony...

Why do we have
so many French words in everyday english? *
rjkz [21]

Answer:

The main reason for the large number of French words in English can be chalked up to another invasion: the Norman Invasion of 1066, when William the Conqueror (Guillaume le Conquerant in French) staked his claim to the British throne and won it in the Battle of Hastings
