I believe it's person vs. person and person vs. environment.
The sentence where there is a dangling modifier is the first one - A) Arriving ten minutes late, the store was closed for the night.
It is dangling because it doesn't refer to anybody - the way it is incorrectly written, it would seem that the store arrived ten minutes late, and not a person.
I would say that you would only use them when you are writing in the thousands or more other than that u don't use them
