A cording with my Knowledge they take the beaches of Normandy was by By overwhelming number; wave after wave. that's the right answer if and not mistaking.

B is wrong because they did not surprise the Germans because  they could see the troops approaching and that give time to prepare better.

C is wrong ether because they might knew the geography but the Germans had the highest positions that give them advantage.

D is wrong also because both army had a heavy weapons but the Germans have a better position to use them.
