DNA replication of chromosomal DNA in a cell requires all of the following, EXCEPT A) DNA polymerase B) primase C) helicase D) R
Viktor [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is D)RNA polymerase

Explanation:

In DNA replication many enzymes and proteins are required to replicate a DNA template. For initiation of DNA synthesis the two DNA strands must be separated which is done by helicase.

Then primase adds short nucleotide sequence and initiate DNA replication. After that DNA polymerase acts and adds nucleotide at the 3' end of growing  DNA strand. Ligase is the enzyme that joins the two Okazaki fragments that are created in the lagging strand.

RNA polymerase is not required in DNA replication and it works in transcription therefore the correct answer is RNA polymerase.

Is the practice of genetically modifying human cells ethical? Why or why not?
kumpel [21]

It totally depends upon whether modification is being done in somatic cells or germ cells. Somatic cells modification is ethically accepted because it doesn't pass from one generation to another generation but germline modification is considered as unethical because the modification will pass on to the next generation leading to the persistence of modification in future generations. The problem with genetic modifications is that the impacts of modifications are unpredictable, rather than being fruitful they may lead to lethal mutations so if it occurs in just somatic cells, then even if it is lethal/harmful, it will be confined to only that individual but if a lethal mutation occurs in germ cells then it will pass on to the subsequent generations and it will persist in all future generations.

elixir [45]

Answer:Proteins have many different functions, while DNA has limited functions.

Explanation:

Chemicals that make up the living organisms consists of more protein than DNA. This is because proteins have different functions while the function of DNA are limited. Excluding water and fat, the human body is made up almost entirely of protein. Most of the structural framework of the body such as bones, muscle, organs, skin and nails are made up of protein.

Protein are responsible to do most of the work in cells by acting as enzymes, hormones and carriers. Proteins are largely required for the structure, function, and regulation of the body's tissues and organs.
