The correct answer is - there is less rain.

If we take the south part of the country, than we can simply look at it as being more rainy on the eastern side, and being less rainy on the western side. While in the eastern side the landscape will be predominantly green, with marshes, swamps, and bayous, as we move towards the west, the landscape will gradually become more yellowish, vast grassy plains that have season rain, and for most of the year are dry, and if we continue even more to the west we we encounter semi-arid and arid places were rain is very rare and small in amount.

Which wind belt has the greatest effect on the climate of new york state?
elena55 [62]
I believe its the prevailing westerlies. They are prevailing winds from the west toward the east in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude. They originate from the high pressure areas in the horse latitudes and trend towards the poles and steer extra tropical cyclones.

Define/ Describe "Tidal Bore. How does it apply to the Chesapeake Bay?
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

A tidal bore is a rare natural phenomenon in which an incoming tide creates a wave of water that travels up along a river or a narrow bay causing water to flow against the river's current. Tidal bores occur in relatively few locations worldwide.

Tidal level in the Chesapeake Bay is not affected by moon phases. During the full and new moons, the high tidal level should be the highest. During 1st and 3rd quarter moons, the high tides should be the lowest.
