Better known as the “Law of the Twelve Tables”, the first code of law of Rome was established in 200 B.C., in the epoch of the emperor Justinius. The law included the property rights and punishment for criminals. Elections or trade agreements were not included in Roman's first code of law.  

The Twelve Tables recognized the privileges of the patrician class and its family, the validation of enslavement if debts were not paid, and the hampering of religious custom in civil cases.
