The two biggest rice producing nations in the world, China and India, combined account for the suggested amount of rice production, even little more. These are countries where people have rice as basic diet, on top of that they are the most populated countries in the world, so no wonder that they are the biggest producers, and also the biggest consumers of rice in the world.
The African Plate is a major tectonic plate straddling the equator as well as the prime meridian.
